Jean-Dominique Warnier
Jean-Dominique Warnier was a pioneer in the development of formal methods for software development. He began his career in 1956 as a programmer and analyst. His books on the logical construction of programs and systems, originally written in French, were translated into Spanish, Japanese, Italian, and English. Van Nostrand Reinhold published its American version of Logical Construction of Programs in 1976. Dr. Warnier was a teacher and writer working with CII-Honeywell Bull in Paris, and taught at the National Institute of Data Processing applied to Management (INIG). Dr. Warnier passed away in 1990.
